As we welcome in the new year, it’s important to reflect on the past year and think about the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. One of the key and on-going areas is the importance of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Access (DEIA) in all aspects of society, including education.

The past year has brought to light the ongoing issues of racial and social injustice, and it has become clear that there is still much work to be done to create a more equitable and inclusive society. As an educational consultant, I believe that education has a crucial role to play in this effort.

Creating a sense of belonging for all students is essential for effective learning and development. This means fostering an environment where every student feels valued and respected, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or abilities. In the new year, I am committed to working with educators and schools to promote DEIA and create a sense of belonging in the classroom.

This includes providing training and resources for educators on how to promote DEIA and create inclusive environments, as well as working with schools to review and revise curricula to ensure that all students have the opportunity to see themselves represented and learn about the contributions of diverse groups.

Additionally, I will work with K12schools, institutions, and organizations to review and revise policies and practices that may perpetuate discrimination and bias, and to promote equity in all areas, including access to resources, opportunities, and support.

DEI is not only important for our students, but it is essential for the well-being and success of our society. As we move forward into the new year, let us all commit to making DEIAa priority and working together to create a more inclusive and equitable future for all.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy new year!
